An experiment in maturing bourbon in an oak cask. Saturday, March 28, 2009. 3-28-09, I have emptied the barrel. I decanted about half a liter. It is a darker, richer, smoother bourbon than what went in. I have now refilled the barrel with Old Charter 8 year old again. I plan on leaving it in for at least two months. This has been a great experiment. And it will continue as long a the barrel continues to mature the spirits within.
This is my home page for my three favorite comfort vices. In the links below you will find my page on maturing bourbon in an oak cask, blending port wine in an oak cask, and post about cigars. Friday, January 2, 2009. This site and related links are about my three comfort vises. These are things I enjoy only after God, Country, and Family. None of these are done in excess, so I encourage. You if you partake in any of these, do so in moderation.
We meet, we eat, we talk books, write reviews, check out new books coming into the library, recommend programming and materials for the library. This week the kids took advantage of some of the amazing drawing books we have at Crossfield Public Library. Following snacks and drink they settled in and drew.
